Millinocket Hosts The Grand Exalted Ruler's Visit to Maine

GER Amos McCallum of the Biddeford-Saco Lodge #1597 made his official visit to Maine from November 3rd to the 5th. Millinocket Lodge #1521 was both honored and proud to host Maine's first Grand Exalted Ruler. While in Millinocket, he and his wife, Barbara, along with Area 1 representative, Dr. Bristol and his wife, Ginny were given tours of the Katahdin Paper Co. in East Millinocket and some of it's dams and power stations. To get there, they had to travel through some of the most beautiful country Maine has to offer.

In preparation for Amos's visit, the Millinocket Lodge upstairs got a long over do make over. The old walls and ceilings were torn out and new wallboard, trim, paint and a new ceiling really brightened up the place and allowed us to put on our Sunday best.

On Tuesday, November 4th, The Millinocket Lodge played host to the Maine Elks Association and the 22 Exalted Rulers from the lodges of Maine as they gathered for the Grand Exalted Ruler's Supper. After a great meal, Amos and Barb received gifts from all of the lodges in the state. The night was a huge success and a really fun time. I believe the hospitality was second to none.  Millinocket was also very proud to have many of its own PERs in attendance.

Exalted Ruler ,Tim and his officers want to say thank you to everybody that helped out with the GER's visit. We also hope that everybody had a good time and will come back for another visit.

Of course, I was able to take some pictures and hope you enjoy looking at them.
