A Feed For Our Veterans

On August 19th, the Millinocket Elks Lodge #1521 and the American Legion Post 80 of Millinocket joined together to put on a spaghetti feed for some veterans that were touring Kidney Pond and other areas around the mountain. This was the first time that a group of veterans from the Togus Hospital in Augusta had taken a trip that would be an overnighter. This may lead to more adventures of this type for our hospitalized veterans. To be able to get out in the woods and take a walk in nature really meant a lot to these men and women as the most they usually see is the hospital.

It was a fun time for all. Many thanks go out to those who put in a lot of time to make this possible.

After the feed, the veterans spent the night at a local motel and headed back to the hospital after breakfast. We owe a great deal of gratitude to all of our veterans. Some of the men and women putting on the meal are veterans also.

The following pages of pictures are some of the most memorable that I have taken. I hope you like them. Once again, thank you to the men and women of the Elks and American Legion that helped. Our biggest thanks go to the men and women who put their lives on the line to keep us safe and FREE.
