2003 VETERAN'S LUNCHEON

On November 30th, The Millinocket Elks, The American Legion Family and The VFW joined together to hold a luncheon for all of the veterans, their spouses and widows of veterans in the tri-town area. This was done to try to show our appreciation for all they have done for us. Donna McInnis chaired the kitchen crew and did an outstanding job preparing not only one type of meal, but three different meals were offered. Many thanks to her and her crew. Lou Baron of the Marine Corp League let us use their flags and did a rendition of the Empty Placesetting. After the meal, John Jamo of the VFW, Tom Jacobs of the American Legion, Rhonda Little of the American Legion Auxiliary and Tim Smyth of the Millinocket Elks spoke to the veterans, thanking them for fighting for our freedom, our country and our lives. After they spoke, everybody was entertained by "The Backdoor Studio Dancers". We owe them a big round of thanks for the fantastic job they did. We are hoping to make this an annual function and have started talking about what we can do next year. I would really be missing the boat if I didn't say thank you to everyone that made this idea a reality and a special thanks to Arthur for delivering some meals to the veterans that couldn't make it. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
