Kid's Day 2006
Kid's Day 2006 started out as the same as the other Kid's Days. Lots
of people coming to Jerry Pond and a lot of kids having fun, 687
people of which 286 were kids was the count at the end. For the first
hour everything was going great, then a few drops of rain started to
fall, that didn't dampen the kid's spirit a bit. Then the rain came
down in buckets, the wind really blew hard and the lightning flash for
about 10 - 15 minutes. A lot of people left, but the sun did come out
and dried the games out and the kids went back to having fun again.
After about half an hour, it started to rain hard again and we had to
pack it in. Mother nature wasn't helping much, but the kids did have
fun. Rick and I are looking forward to next year and are putting our
orders in for better weather. We owe a big THANKS to the people and
the Millinocket Elks, The American Legion Family, The VFW, The Learn
Not To Burn Unit, DARE, Fay Calhoun, Jiggles the Clown and the
Katahdin Valley Health Center for their help in making this a success.
I did get a bunch of pictures as usual, go ahead and take a look.
