Veteran's Fall Foliage
Trip
On Monday, September 25th, a group of veteran's from Togus came to Millinocket
and went on a fall foliage tour of our area. After a bus ride that took them up
to and around Baxter State Park, they stopped at the Millinocket Elk's Lodge and
had a meal of burgers, salads, chips and sweets. Thanks go out to Chefs Rick and
Dan for the great job in the kitchen, Ellen Van Dine made a couple of salads
that were enjoyed by all, Exalted Ruler- Jeff Neal, Treasurer- Joyce Beaulieu
and Secretary- Don McInnis for the hospitality the lodge put forward to make their stay a very happy one.
Our Veteran's Program Chairman, Dave Van Dine and Togus Representative Terry
Olson were the ones that put this trip together, once again they did a fantastic
job. The next day the veterans went on a boat cruise of the Penobscot River for
a couple of hours before returning to Togus. It was a lot of fun to visit
with these veterans and to see really big smiles on their faces while we talked
with them. It was well worth the time for us to do something special for some of
the people that gave us our freedom and rights to live in our great country.
Enjoy the pictures.
